A faithful friend saved the life of his owner who fainted on the beach (6 photos)
David Howarth collapsed while walking on a deserted beach in Dorset, England. Luckily, he had his Labrador, Bo, with him. The dog began jumping, running around his owner, and barking loudly, trying to get his attention.
Passersby noticed the dog's strange behavior and came to his aid.
Claire Dashwood was walking with her companion when she noticed five-year-old Bo next to Howarth. Without thinking, she ran over.
Together with Paul Harrold, she rolled the 71-year-old man onto his back and began performing CPR. A medic gave them instructions over the phone.

Rachel Hall and Chris Howell, two doctors, were walking nearby and, seeing what was happening, joined the rescue effort. They took turns performing chest compressions.
An ambulance soon arrived and resuscitated Howarth. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors installed a pacemaker.
The man shared his feelings: “I owe my life to Bo. It’s like winning the lottery; I feel euphoric. I’m full of energy, joy, and optimism. I’m incredibly grateful to Bo and everyone who saved me. I call them angels. I’m just happy to be alive, to be here, and to have another chance.”

Dashwood said she initially thought Bo was acting. And when I saw Howarth lying on his back, I knew something was wrong.
"He was purple and very cold," she said. "No pulse, no breathing. Everyone around me was saying, 'He's dead.' But I just ignored it and kept going."
"The dog could have growled or even attacked, but he kept licking me. He knew I was helping David. Beau is my little hero."

Sam Kennard, an expert at the British Heart Foundation, noted that this story serves as an important reminder of the need to act quickly in emergency situations.
"Thanks to someone recognizing the signs of cardiac arrest and starting rescue breathing, a life was saved," he emphasized.
"Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time." ![]()
