This is just a small selection of frames from the more than 300,000 negatives stored in the archive of the Venice photography studio Cameraphoto. They were accumulated over a period of more than fifty years.
Vittorio Pavan, a former student and now the owner of Cameraphoto, has become the custodian of this extraordinary photo archive. Despite constant and meticulous care to preserve the negatives, they quickly and inevitably deteriorate. To preserve this historical legacy, the archive's owner has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. He plans to raise funds to digitize the original images and subsequently preserve high-resolution copies.
