A pastor from Limpopo "heals" parishioners with farts (4 photos)
South African pastor Christos Penelope claims to have found an effective way to heal his parishioners' mental and physical ailments: he sits on their faces and farts, thereby expelling evil from them. 
Pastor Christos Penelope lives in the village of Siyandani, Limpopo. According to his parishioners, Christos has been practicing this unconventional healing for a long time—many people wait months to meet him and his healing farts. Some even collect the air mixed with his farts in containers. However, not everyone agrees with his methods.
"When we come to church, it's because we need prayers, not to fart." 
Pastor Penelope himself says that his approach to treatment is primarily focused not so much on farts as on the effect of dominance—not over a person, but over the demons within them:
"It all started with the Master Jesus, when he stepped on Peter. It's a demonstration of God's power. Just as God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep, it's the same thing."
But Penelope doesn't forget about farting either—according to him, it must be done near a person's nostrils, and only then can the healing power properly enter their body. 
Other pastors are rather skeptical of Penelope's work. For example, Pastor Jacob Sibiya of Kagiso told the South African newspaper Daily Sun that he fundamentally disagrees with his colleague:
"That's wrong. Nowhere does God say: sit on people and they will be healed. Pastors should practice what the Bible says, not what they think it says."
