For a long time, Nutty Putty Cave was a favorite destination for cavers. However, it is now sealed forever. In 2009, the cave became the grave of a 26-year-old man. The cave was recently recreated as a VR game.
In 2009, tragedy struck Nutty Putty, an extremely cramped cave popular among those who like to climb where it's not supposed to be.
At the time, 26-year-old John Jones was attempting to reach an extremely narrow section called Birth Canal, but he took a wrong turn and became stuck. It was impossible to turn around: the space was too tight to maneuver even the slightest bit.
He found himself trapped in a hole about 25-30 cm wide, upside down, crushed by his own weight and the rock.
John spent 27 hours in this position, but was never rescued. The man died from suffocation, blood pressure, and the simple inability to free himself.
Now, a highly realistic VR game called Cave Crave has been created to commemorate this occasion, so you too can experience all the delights of this wonderful form of recreation.
