Double-decker bus race

In 1982, under the leadership of Margaret Thatcher, England was emerging from an economic recession, and the Falklands remained part of the United Kingdom. A television program floated the idea: "What if we had a race... using decommissioned London buses?" And, like true representatives of a nation that remembered its former imperial glory, where the Queen rode in a carriage and football fans created legends, they exclaimed, "Brilliant!"
