20 Buildings That Are Completely Unlike Ordinary Houses (21 photos)

Some of the most beautiful and luxurious buildings in the world are designed to mimic natural forms, like flowers or birds' nests.

But there are also creations whose creators took the idea literally. These structures look exactly like the objects and animals that inspired them, whether it's a picnic basket, a pensive koala, or a mischievous dog. Here are 20 whimsical buildings from around the world that look nothing like ordinary houses. You could even say these structures have a real identity crisis, but that doesn't stop them from being amazing.

In a dream, a dove appeared to him on a hilltop, commanding him to build a temple for everyone. As fate would have it, Daniel soon found himself on the very hill from his dream and immediately realized he had to build a temple.

Construction of the temple began in 1992. Daniel encountered numerous difficulties, ranging from a scandal with local Muslims to design errors. The dove, whom everyone calls a chicken, gained fame almost 20 years later. International media coverage of the temple began, filmmakers flocked to it, and tourists flocked to it. It now houses a prayer hall, a museum, and a café.
