Traditional military dance with gunfire remains in Taif
The shocking incident occurred on May 31, and the video has only just appeared online. Early in the morning, a 67-year-old man spilled gasoline and set fire to a train car full of passengers. As a result, 21 people were injured, and more than 400 were evacuated.
The arsonist himself later admitted that he did it out of anger over a divorce and division of property. The prosecutor's office charged him with attempted murder and arson of public transport. The man could face life imprisonment.
The incident evoked alarming parallels with the 2003 tragedy in the city of Daegu. There, a similar fire in the subway claimed the lives of almost 200 people. This time, there were no casualties thanks to the quick response of passengers and fire-resistant materials inside the train car.
