A thrifty swindler wanted to buy a house for $ 1.4 million and robbed boyfriends for her dream (3 photos)
Chinese woman Yin Xue spent money on plastic surgery and changed her appearance to meet rich guys and steal valuables from their homes. At the same time, she spent about $4 a day on herself.
A woman from China came up with a scheme to save 10 million yuan (US$1.4 million) to buy a house by meeting rich men and then robbing their houses.
It is noted that Yin Xue, who grew up in a poor family in rural Hunan Province, attended a luxurious wedding of one of her boyfriend's friends at the age of 18. And the designer clothes, villa and personal staff made the girl envious.
She set herself the goal of saving 10 million yuan over a five-year period and buying a house in Shenzhen. In an attempt to save the necessary amount, the girl changed many professions, having worked for some time in the hotel business, as a sales consultant, a model, a streamer, an administrator in a karaoke bar. In the end, she spent most of her savings on plastic surgery, fitness classes and attending etiquette courses, retraining as a "socialite".
Yin would find wealthy men on social media and move in with them. And when her "patrons" were away, she would hire movers to haul away everything from designer belts to sofas and appliances, then sell it all on online second-hand platforms.
Over the course of several months, the 24-year-old Chinese woman stole more than 200,000 yuan, or about $30,000, from eight men. And all of her victims kept quiet, fearing publicity and ridicule.
But the ninth boyfriend, Yin, installed CCTV cameras in the house, caught the fraudster red-handed and reported her to the police. Ironically, it happened on Valentine's Day.
In February 2022, Yin was arrested for theft and fraud and brought to justice. The exact term of her sentence has not been disclosed, but in China, theft of less than 300,000 yuan, or $42,000, can result in up to 10 years in prison plus a fine.
Yin lived frugally, spending less than 30 yuan (US$4) a day in a basement hotel room in Shanghai.
"I only needed the money to buy a house. I didn't spend it recklessly," she confessed to police.
