A dog escaped from home in the UK and swam to another island (4 photos + 1 video)
The pet covered more than 160 km in a month.
Amber was rescued by a charity in Qatar and brought to the UK, where she was adopted by a family from Hampshire. After just one day in her new home, the dog escaped.
For a long time, the dog ran away from volunteers. "Unfortunately, a dog that is scared and has gone into such a wild state would run away from anyone," explained Kelly Parker, founder of the dog rescue service that was involved in capturing Amber.
The dog was spotted in Hampshire and neighbouring Dorset. However, each time volunteers spotted Amber, she ran away from them for almost 10 km.
Later, Amber swam to Brownsea Island in Poole Bay, where she was fed by a local resident. Amber was spotted swimming by two men crossing the bay in a boat and contacted the Missing Dogs Service. Amber is now back living in Hampshire with her owners, who are keeping a closer eye on their pet.
