A hidden camera in the hallway recorded what a neighbor does when no one is looking (2 photos + 1 video)
Lauren Lee Barker, from North Somerset, UK, has been banned from owning pets for the next five years after a doorbell camera captured her hitting and screaming at her dog Rocco. 
The footage shows Barker, 49, screaming at her dog and pushing him towards the door, causing him to crash into the door frame. She then forces the dog inside and closes the door. "Come in. Rocco, don't annoy me. Come in. Come in, f***ing. I said move. Move, move. Stop," she can be heard screaming on the recording.
Even after that, the conflict continues - the dog can be heard barking and the camera "shakes" as Barker slams the door. 
A veterinary expert who reviewed the footage gave his opinion: "Rocco suffered because the person responsible for the welfare of this animal behaved aggressively and cruelly. This animal was abused."
At North Somerset Crown Court, the British woman was found guilty of causing Rocco suffering during an incident that occurred in September 2023. It was also found that the woman failed to provide adequate care for her charges.
The court sentenced Barker to 12 weeks of suspended imprisonment for 18 months and 30 days of rehabilitation activities. She was banned from keeping animals for five years, and this decision can only be appealed after two years.
Barker, in turn, declared her innocence. She explains that she acted in self-defense against the "aggressive" Rocco.
Experts assessed the dog's condition and recognized her as suitable for adoption. "We are extremely grateful for people reporting animal welfare issues and providing any evidence that may assist the investigation," said Inspector Kim Walters, who deals with animal welfare issues.
