As for the environmental friendliness, of course, there is a big question here, this giant will work only on batteries.

The Hull096 ferry is really big. See for yourself: it is 130 m long, has a capacity of 2,100 passengers and 225 vehicles. The passenger ship is equipped with more than 250 ton batteries and has more than 40 megawatt-hours of power, which is four times more than any previous offshore installation.

Australian shipbuilding company Incat called the ferry project the most complex and ambitious of all previously developed. This ferry was built in Tasmania under a contract with the South American ferry operator Buquebus. It will sail across the La Plata River, which forms the border between Argentina and Uruguay.

“We have been building world-class vessels here in Tasmania for over four decades and Hull 096 is the most ambitious, complex and important project we have ever undertaken,” said Incat Chairman Robert Clifford.
