In Alaska, old planes are being turned into houses
Alaskans are giving old, decommissioned planes a second life. They are turning aircraft into homes.
Local craftsmen, including the hero of this video, are taking decommissioned planes and making them into… homes. Not just sheds for storing skis, but full-fledged housing – with rooms, kitchens and other amenities.
Rusty airliners that once furrowed the skies now stand peacefully on the ground, having acquired extensions, doors and cozy interiors. Want to spend the night in the pilot’s cabin? Please. Dreamed of a bedroom in the tail section? No problem. There is also a flight school in the town where they teach how to fly real planes. Apparently, so that guests do not forget where their unusual apartments came from.
