Man couldn't kick 17 cats out of his yard and now lives with them (4 photos + 1 video)
One day, Sam Kinnear saw two cats in the yard, followed them and unexpectedly came across a group of 15 homeless animals. The man began to feed them, and soon realized that he had become their "cat mother".
Sam Kinnear, 34, from the UK, who moved to the Spanish island of Mallorca last October, unexpectedly became the owner of an entire "colony" of homeless cats.
Having arrived in the city of Pollensa with his wife and her cat Bunny, he discovered that his house quickly became a haven for many furry guests. One day, he noticed two cats in his yard, decided to follow them, and soon found himself in front of a group of 15 strays watching him from the wall.
Sam began feeding them, and soon realized that he had become their "cat mom." Together with volunteers from the organization Cat Protection Pollensa, he helped sterilize the animals, after which they officially became part of his life.
Now the cats meet him at the door every day at 5 p.m. sharp, waiting for dinner, and the kittens rest on chairs and tables in his yard.
"I saw the cats and I wanted to feed them. I go outside the gate and they're already there, and by that time they've figured out where I live. They're all so beautiful and have such sweet personalities. Everyone who comes to visit is just delighted. It's a little scary because what if I ever want to leave?" he said.
Sam humorously notes that his "adoption" of cats is the result of a glitch in the Cat Distribution Network (CDN), a popular internet meme that describes how animals find new owners without their knowledge. He even named his pets: Clarence, Simon, Suki Lou, Buggy, and twins Momo and Gyoza.
Despite his love for cats, Sam admits that looking after such a large "family" is not easy.
"Sometimes it becomes too much - I have to find ways to cool them down a little," the Briton jokes.
He also intends to support the organization Cat Protection Pollensa, which helped him with the care of furry neighbors.
