Hunter shot an elk and proposed to his girlfriend (2 photos)
The proposal of marriage that Jared Lavers from New Gloucester (Maine, USA) planned was quite unusual. 
The avid hunter went into the forest with his beloved girlfriend Christine Messer (they have been dating for 6 years) and, having shot an elk, dropped to one knee and solemnly handed the lady an engagement ring.
Christine happily accepted the proposal. Yes, it was not at all like a prince on a white horse had come to her, but she had not expected any prince, only Jared. As for the somewhat sinister underside of such a proposal, Christine is not particularly worried about it. She and Jared love hunting, considering it the most ordinary activity. And, apparently, quite compatible with romance, no matter how grotesque such a combination may seem to someone.
