This time, Chinese craftsmen have upgraded the robot dog. They presented their model Black Panther V 2.1 from the Research Institute of Humanoid Robot Innovation of Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, developed jointly with the International Science and Technology Innovation Center in cooperation with Jingshi Technology Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Kedar Welding Robot Co., Ltd..

This model reached a speed of 10 m/s, which is not something you can really run away from. To understand the scale of the tragedy: Usain Bolt's peak speed, which was recorded on a separate section of the 100-meter distance, was 12.42 m/s. Such figures were achieved thanks to the special design of the legs, built on the principle of Huygens' pendulum. We all pretend that we are aware of this principle.

In a nutshell, when a pendulum swings, its potential energy is converted into kinetic energy, causing it to move along a cycloidal trajectory. The cycloidal trajectory is the result of the length of the pendulum and the force of gravity acting on it.

Okay, back to the robodog. This high-tech "dog" is made of durable and lightweight carbon fiber. Its weight, with a height of 64 ms, reaches only 38 kg. In addition to the special design of the legs, the robot is wearing "sneakers" that improve traction by 200%.

The developers plan to continue improving the work until its speed exceeds human capabilities. They have not yet explained why they need such a nimble robot.
