Unusual and interesting photos from around the world (21 photos)
A new selection of photographs from around the world, taken throughout the 20th century.
The first Australian Antarctic expedition, 1911-1914.
Also called the Mawson expedition. Many interesting photographs were taken and even a movie was shot, and they even managed to publish a newspaper there. But three years in Antarctica is hard labor. That's why they ate almost all of their sled dogs and many penguins.

The bomb is not dangerous (the fuse in the nose is missing from the photo), and the boy (like the photographer) most likely knows this very well.
