Kyiv: Moscow Bridge (19 photos)
Moskovsky Bridge is one of the road bridges across the Dnieper in Kyiv, playing a vital role in the transport infrastructure of the capital. Opened in December 1976. It consists of three parts: a cable-stayed bridge across the Dnieper 816 m long, a bridge over the Desyonka River (732 m long) and an overpass over the Slavutych Embankment (Obolon) 55 m long. According to the original design, it had three lanes for vehicle traffic in each direction. Located in the northern part of Kyiv, south of the Obolon railway station. Connects the right bank part of the city with the Troeshchina and Raduzhny massifs.
1) It’s scary, cold and windy at the top.
2) You have to film from this small platform; there are two of them on the bridge. I would like to note that when the truck is driving, these sites are just shaking.
3) The Kiev coat of arms, located at an altitude of 115 meters, is made of some unusual plastic.
4) One of the supports of the bridge pylons, 115 meters of free fall into the Dnieper.

12) Now let’s move on to cable-stayed guy wires.
13) Somehow they hold on, one of these things weighs more than 200 kilos.
14) In 2005, another reversible lane was added to the bridge due to the compaction of the lanes.
15) This led to a significant increase in the accident risk of the bridge.
16) On December 24, 2007, the reversible lane was removed, a bump stop was installed in its place, and due to further compaction of the lanes, markings were applied for four-lane traffic in each direction.
