A few hours after the tragedy in South Korea, a virtually identical incident occurred at Halifax International Airport in Nova Scotia.
PAL Airlines Air Canada Express Flight 2259 was en route from St. John's. According to one of the passengers, the plane began to land at an angle of about 20 degrees to the left. During the hard landing, the aircraft caught fire after its wing hit the runway.
According to preliminary information, the aircraft has a capacity of about 80 passengers, with most of the seats reportedly occupied, but the exact number of passengers remains unconfirmed.
There are no reports of casualties, and the fire has been quickly extinguished. The cause of the landing gear failure is currently under investigation. Aviation authorities and Air Canada representatives have not yet determined whether the problem was mechanical, procedural, or caused by external factors.

The crew decided to return to Oslo and land at another airport. It is reported that no one was injured as a result of the emergency landing.
