A robot trainer for playing table tennis

The Japanese have shown a robot that plays table tennis masterfully. It can adapt to the opponent's level of training and more.

This mechanical virtuoso, similar to a giant spider with a racket, is able to calculate the trajectory of the ball and adapt to the player's level. It can both delicately prompt a beginner on the correct technique and arrange a session of humiliating defeat for a famous athlete. And for the especially self-confident, there is a game mode, where the robot plays a game with a couple of opponents at once.
