Donation by force: how an Indian accidentally gave his expensive smartphone to a temple

A funny incident occurred in one of the Indian temples: a local resident accidentally dropped his iPhone, which ended up in the donation box. The owner's attempts to return the gadget were in vain - the temple administration categorically refused to return the device, explaining that everything that ended up in the donation box automatically became the property of the deity. Despite the fact that the phone's fall into the donation box was clearly unintentional, the temple management was adamant. As a compromise, the hapless owner was offered only to transfer the data from the iPhone to another device. It is noteworthy that the position of the temple was fully supported by representatives of local authorities, confirming the legitimacy of such a decision according to religious traditions.
