30 testimonies of what the world looked like many years ago (31 photos)
The earliest photograph known to date was taken in France in 1826. Its author, Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, was experimenting with a camera obscura and captured a view from a window. Old photographs allow us to see how people lived a hundred or more years ago. That's why we've prepared a collection of colorized vintage images so you can admire the ingenuity of photographers and feel closer to history.
