Coca-Cola decided to change its New Year's ad and received a portion of anger from fans (1 photo + 3 videos)
Since 1995, a few weeks before the New Year holidays, TV screens have invariably shown advertisements of red trucks decorated with lights, driving through snowy picturesque landscapes.
It's hard to find a person who hasn't seen these commercials at least once.
Everyone has long been accustomed to them, and the simple song with the ringing of bells is already firmly associated with the approach of one of the most atmospheric holidays of the year.
And here is that very first advertisement, 1995.
Naturally, over the years, many versions of New Year's advertising have been filmed, with real people and such a cozy atmosphere.
But this year, the company's management decided to keep up with the times and simply did not spend money on actors, equipment and props. And why have all this if you have artificial intelligence at hand, which can generate anything. This time, AI created as many as 3 ads.
But users in social networks did not appreciate the creativity, stuffed a full panama hat in the comments with negativity, that such a respected corporation turned out to be so lazy and could not make a normal advertisement, but created a video "devoid of emotions". And in general, it looks more like a "terrible dystopian nightmare". Well, they shouldn't have done that, even the number of fingers is the same.
However, Prateek Thakar, Coca-Cola's vice president and global head of AI, explained that the company is combining its "heritage" with "the future and technology." And most importantly, using this technology saves money, not to mention time.
