Rasim, who was considered a model student at school, spent ten months using the money from the class fund as if it were his own. The court fined him 900 euros.
In the German city of Hagen, former class monitor Rasim O., 20, found himself at the center of a scandal after it became known that he spent 7,500 euros from the school fund on his own needs. Instead of using the accumulated funds to organize the graduation, Rasim used them for restaurants, a trip to Turkey and paying the fee for obtaining German citizenship.
The students in the class donated 35 euros a month to a special account for two years. They planned to spend the collected funds on decorations, a banquet, and an entertainment program for the graduation party. Rasim was considered a model student. However, two months before the event, it became known that a significant part of the money had disappeared.
"He acted like a star, posting photos on Instagram. Now we know how he paid for all this," said one of Rasim's classmates.
The boy was accused of 58 cases of embezzlement of money from the school fund. The prosecutor's office estimated the damage at 5,430 euros, since minor expenses up to 50 euros were not taken into account in the case. At the trial, he admitted his guilt, explaining his actions by saying that he had gotten into a "vicious circle" and could not find a way out.
Rasim's parents reimbursed the entire amount stolen. Thanks to this, the graduation still took place, but Rasim himself was prohibited from participating in it.
The court fined him 900 euros.
