The owner spent about six months on the design, and the hotel was built from September 2023 to October 2024. At the opening ceremony, they were presented with a certificate for obtaining the record.
In the Philippine province of Negros Oriental, there is a hotel that was recently included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the tallest building in the shape of a rooster in the world.
Journalists point out that the hotel called Rooster is located at the Campuestohan Highland Resort, and is 35 m high. In general, the building not only has the shape of a poultry, but is also made in great detail as a realistic rooster, dominating the entire area with its appearance.
Resort Director Ricardo Cano Gwapo Tan said that he tried to create something to attract attention and pay tribute to the local culture, where wild animals are a significant part of the culture. In the province of Negros Oriental, millions of Filipinos raise game, so the manager of the establishment is confident that some of his countrymen will want to spend time in one of the 15 air-conditioned rooms at the hotel.
"I have a vision to do something amazing that can really leave a mark of admiration for the public. Look at the rooster; it has a calm, majestic and strong appearance that reflects the attitude of our people. Our gamebird industry is second only to the sugar industry. When the sugar industry declined and threatened our livelihood, it was the gamecock industry that rose to the challenge," said Gwano Tap.
A statement from Guinness World Records stated that the design and preparation process took about six months. The construction itself began on June 10, 2023, and was completed on September 8 this year, in time for the world record.
"I am both proud and a little embarrassed at the same time. I am proud that I was able to put my province and my home country in the Guinness Book of World Records. At the same time, I feel embarrassed because of my poor education, when I had to work as a shoe shiner to earn a living and go to school. However, I made my family, my province and my country proud," said Ricardo Cano Gwapo Tan.
