Sean Combs, aka P. Diddy, was taken into custody in a New York courtroom. He is accused of assault and human trafficking. At least four women have accused him of sexual assault and human trafficking. It all started when the rapper's ex-wife Cassandra Ventura accused him of sexual assault. She claimed that the rapper had gotten her hooked on opiates and alcohol and forced her to have sex with other men — while he filmed the process. She also said that Sean had beaten her and even raped her more than once. At first, these accusations were ignored, but after the video from the cameras leaked online, the police took up Combs' case.
Federal Homeland Security Investigations and other law enforcement agencies suspect the musician of "human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation." Inspections have begun in his homes, and the rapper himself hastily flew on a private jet to another state.
He was detained at a Manhattan hotel on the evening of September 16, his lawyer told CNN. According to a statement released by his lawyers, the musician cooperated with the investigation and "voluntarily came to New York last week to await charges."
"He's not a perfect person, but he's not a criminal," the statement, as quoted by The New York Times (NYT), reads.
The rapper, of course, denies his guilt.
