Man arrested for anonymously calling wife 100 times a day and keeping silent (2 photos)

A woman started receiving strange phone calls from a man who would remain silent until she hung up. Over time, she began to suspect her husband and went to the police.





A 38-year-old Japanese man who harassed his wife by anonymously calling her over 100 times a day and saying nothing until she hung up has been arrested.

On July 10, a 31-year-old woman from the city of Amagasaki began receiving strange phone calls from a man who would simply remain silent until she hung up. This went on for weeks, as the calls came from an anonymous number and the girl could not simply block them. Most of the time, she received dozens of calls, but sometimes an unknown number would call more than 100 times a day.

In August, the calls continued to come in and the desperate woman began to think about how to expose her stalker. The more she analyzed their character, the more suspicious she became of her husband. The only time she did not receive annoying calls was the night they slept in the same bed and when she used his phone to play video games.



The woman eventually went to the police to help her solve the mystery and shared her suspicions that her husband might be the stalker. The investigation confirmed the victim's fears and on September 4, her husband was arrested for violating the law on combating stalkers.

"I love my wife and called her without saying anything," the man answered when asked why he had been harassing his own wife with his strange calls for over a month.

The publication notes that in Japan, it is not uncommon for married couples to live separately, especially when one of them has to move due to work, and sometimes one of the spouses becomes so jealous that he begins to stalk the other. However, Amagasaki police confirmed that this is the first case of telephone harassment of a couple living together.
