Passenger Tries to Hijack Plane During Turbulence (2 photos + 1 video)
A daring man decided that he could fly the plane better than the pilot and rushed into the cockpit at an altitude of 9,000 meters.
During the four-hour journey, the plane reportedly encountered turbulence. This irritated one of the passengers on board, who, according to preliminary data, was intoxicated.
The tourist called the captain a jerk and tried to get into his cockpit to take control. When this plan failed, the troublemaker tried to open the emergency exit door. The flight attendants rushed to stop him and then a fight broke out.
Ultimately, a little less than two hours after takeoff, the captain made an emergency landing at Munich Airport (Germany). Local law enforcement officers boarded the plane and, to the applause of everyone present, handcuffed the troublemaker.
"Get off, loser!" one passenger shouted.
"My 80-year-old parents were so scared because they were sitting 2 seats away from him. They still can't get over it," another woman wrote.
"Thank God there were no casualties," another participant in the discussion added.
Later, an official statement was released by EasyJet representatives.
"Safety is EasyJet's top priority. Our cabin crew are trained to act quickly and correctly in all situations to ensure that you fly safely at all times. Incidents like these are rare but we take them very seriously. Harassing or threatening the safety of other passengers is unacceptable," the statement said.
