An eagle that couldn’t fly was discovered in the US (3 photos)
Veterinarians thought the bird was injured, but X-rays showed it had overeaten.
Missouri Department of Conservation officers tried to help a bald eagle that was unable to fly due to an "injury." It turned out that it had overeaten. This was reported on social media by Wilson's Creek National Battlefield Preserve and on the Kansas City Star website.
The bald eagle was caught on the edge of the conservation area. The bird could not take off, so experts believed it was injured. She probably had problems with her wings.
The eagle had an X-ray. It showed that the predator had recently eaten a whole raccoon. Due to the sudden weight gain and swollen belly, the bird was unable to fly. "[He became] too fat to fly," the department said.
As a result, the bird was allowed to digest its prey, after which it was released into the reserve.
