Football star Cristiano Ronaldo breaks new record with YouTube channel
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United player has broken an off-field record after becoming the first YouTube channel to reach 20 million subscribers in just 24 hours. Cristiano has overtaken Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, who has reached 10 million followers in 132 days.
On his channel called UR Cristiano, the 39-year-old footballer shares videos with his wife Georgina Rodriguez and five children. The family lives in Saudi Arabia, where Cristiano's team Al-Nassr is based.
Cristiano has also shown off his wax double at Madame Tussauds, ranked his best goals at the Euros and had a free kick competition with his son.
The channel currently has over 30 million viewers.
His two most popular videos have 24 million views each. Impressive, considering they're less than two minutes long.
Ronaldo joins fellow sports stars Tom Brady, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Cam Newton, and Jimmy Butler on YouTube.
The Portuguese still has a long way to go to catch up with Mr. Beast, who has 331 million subscribers.
