Anime in Middle-earth: unexpected trailer for the full-length cartoon based on "The Lord of the Rings"
The events of the project, subtitled "Wars of the Rohirrim", will unfold several hundred years before the beginning of the original story of "The Lord of the Rings".
- The debut trailer for the anime based on "The Lord of the Rings" was shown by Warner Bros. Pictures. It owns the rights to release films and TV series based on the franchise of J. R. R. Tolkien.
- The action of "Wars of the Rohirrim" will unfold approximately 200 years before the beginning of the adventures of Bilbo Baggins. The plot of the full-length film will center on the legendary king Helm Hammerhand, who kills the leader of the country of Dunland during a fight. The son of the deceased swears revenge and gathers an army to attack the ruler, forcing him to seek refuge in the fortress of Hornburg. The area where the battle took place will later become known as Helm's Deep.
- The main characters of the film were voiced by Brian Cox, Gaia Wise, Luke Pasqualino, Miranda Otto and Shaun Dooley.
- The anime was directed by Kenji Kamiyama. He directed, among other things, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Blade Runner: Black Lotus.
