An airport in Japan was closed due to the disappearance of scissors (3 photos)
The funniest thing is that despite the unprecedented measures to inspect passengers, the security service never found the scissors. They were found themselves a day later.
More than 200 flights were delayed and 36 were cancelled at the New Chitose Airport in Japan due to missing scissors. It is noted that the tool disappeared on August 17 from a store located in the departure area of a domestic flight. The airport management reacted to this news in a panicky, unconventional way, deciding that the scissors were stolen in order to commit a terrorist attack on board the plane.
Mass searches began at the airport. Due to the checks, domestic flights were delayed for at least 2 hours. Security checked some suspicious passengers several times, and huge queues formed.
Despite all the inconveniences the passengers endured, the scissors were never found. And who would have thought, they were found the next day in the same store from which they were allegedly stolen. As the airport management explained, the incident occurred due to "improper storage systems and poor store management."
The media noted that the Japanese rock band 9mm Parabellum Bullet suffered from the actions of overly vigilant managers. Due to the flight cancellation, the musicians missed their performance at the annual Rising Sun music festival.
New Chitose Airport is considered the busiest in Japan. In 2022, more than 15 million people used this air harbor.
