They make postmen run: crazy seagulls attack mail and steal letters and parcels (4 photos)
During the delivery of mail, postal workers have to work in dashes, avoiding raids by “psycho seagulls”. Sometimes, due to bird attacks, they are forced to return to the department with parcels.
In the US state of Cornwall, local seagulls created a real terror for postmen. They attack them and take away parcels and letters as they deliver them home.
For residents of Bogdara Way in Liskeard, postal workers even posted a notice asking them to understand that there would be delays in mail delivery due to aggressive birds. Royal Mail's regional account manager says the air threat has made it difficult to deliver mail safely.
"As you may be aware, we are currently experiencing some difficulty in delivering safely to you and your neighbors due to seagulls in the area swarming deliveries to protect their young. If on any day we are unable to deliver to you safely , your mail will be returned to the Liskeard warehouse where it will be securely stored until we can try to deliver again the next day,” the message reads.

"While Royal Mail is committed to providing continued daily delivery to addresses, we give the highest priority to the safety of our staff. Rest assured that we will be monitoring the situation daily to ensure that normal service to you and your neighbors can be restored as quickly as possible," the post office said.
