It can also shoot acid.

Meet Telifon. Yes, this miracle has such an interesting name. This predator belongs to the class Arachnida, order Telifona, which has about 100 modern species.

Found in countries with tropical and subtropical climates. The phone lives in North America, South America, Africa and Asia.

They prefer to live in tropical rainforests and are most active during the rainy season. Telephones are usually hidden under lying tree trunks and under stones. They also know how to dig holes very well, up to 1.5 meters deep.

In many tropical countries, telephones live right in homes. They prefer to live under the bathtub, in the kitchen under the sink or behind the toilet. In general, they like to settle where there is a lot of humidity.

Externally, the phone looks like a scorpion without a tail. It grows up to 9 centimeters in length. It has powerful jaws called chelicerae. He is also armed with healthy claws, the so-called pedipalps. The front legs of the telephon are thin and elongated, which serve as organs of touch.

The phone's secret weapon is located in the back of its belly. In case of danger, this predator can release concentrated acetic acid from the anal glands at a distance of up to 80 centimeters. If it gets into a person's eyes, the effect will be like that of a powerful pepper spray. Possible vision complications.

The phone is nocturnal, like most arachnids. It feeds on insects, centipedes, scorpions, worms and small frogs. It captures its prey with powerful claws, after which it tears it apart with its jaws - chelicerae.

When hunting, it prefers to attack from ambush, hiding under foliage or under the bark of trees.

During breeding, the male conducts a mating walk for the female. If the female does not mind the continuation, then the male deposits a spermatophore on the surface of the soil. After this, the female grabs the spermatophore with her genital openings and the pair separates.

After fertilization, the female digs a deep hole in the ground, where she lays several dozen eggs, which are attached under her belly with the help of a sticky secretion. After a few weeks, the hatchlings climb onto the mother's back, but after the second moult they leave their mother and begin an independent life. After three years, the cubs reach sexual maturity.

You can keep your phone at home and it can become your wonderful friend.

To keep one adult at home, a standard terrarium measuring 30x30x30cm is suitable.

Phones love moisture, so it is necessary to maintain a fairly high humidity of up to 80%. This can be achieved by watering the substrate with water or installing a drinking bowl.

The temperature should be around 25 degrees Celsius. They need to be fed insects, which can be bought at a pet store. Telephones live quite a long time, up to 20 years.
