Starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Andy Garcia, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Elliott Gould and Bernie Mac. The film was directed by Steven Soderbergh, responsible for the films Erin Brockovich and Traffic.

1. Ocean doesn’t have 11 friends, but 10 (Ryan, Tishkoff, Catton, the Malloy brothers, Dell, Tarr, Bloom, Ian, Caldwell). A literal translation of the film should sound something like Ocean's Eleven.

2. This is a remake of the 1960 film of the same name, which starred famous actors of those times, including Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. In films from 1960 and 2001. The names of Danny Ocean's friends are never the same.

3. The 2001 film featured cameos from two actors from the 1960 cast: Henry Silva and Angie Dickinson.

4. Don Cheadle, who played Basher Tarr, is uncredited. The reason was never stated for certain from Cheadle himself, but rumors whisper that it was a matter of recognition. The actor demanded a position on the official poster along with Clooney, Damon, Garcia, Pitt and Roberts, but was refused. In the following episodes, the request was granted and Cheadle allowed himself to be noted in the credits.

5. By the way, the British-English-speaking :) Internet rated Cheadle’s emulation of a British accent very low. At first, the actor had a complex and even tried to improve his skills for “12 Friends,” but his agent recommended relaxing and leaving it as it was. Like, firstly, there is no need to feed the trolls, and secondly, Tarr simply lived in the USA for a very long time and disappeared a little into the local culture.

6. Meet director Steven Soderbergh himself.

7. The film's producer Jerry Weintraub was on friendly terms with Bellagio owner Steve Wynn and gave the film crew carte blanche for any pranks. By the way, the pictures from surveillance cameras (not related to the story) are real.

7.1. George Clooney called Weintraub “The Pope of Vegas” behind his back.

7.2. And here is Jerry Weintraub himself:

8. In the envelope with the script and an invitation to Julia Roberts to take part in the film, George Clooney put a 20-dollar bill and accompanied this gesture with the text: “they say that you don’t work for less than twenty” :) This was a thick hint at the actress’s fee in Erin Bronkovich ($20 million).

9. Judging by behind-the-scenes stories, the actors regularly made fun of Julia Roberts. Note the closing credits and "And introducing Jilua Roberts as Tess". This is how only aspiring actresses are introduced in the credits.

10. During breaks between filming, Soderbergh motivated the actors to socialize and in every possible way plunge into the abyss of sin in Las Vegas. The unluckiest of the “eleven” was George Clooney, and who outweighed him on the other side of the scale – the information varies, but not much. This lucky guy was either Matt Damon or Brad Pitt.

11. Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt) teaches real movie stars how to play cards. Spotted at the gaming table are Holly Marie Combs, Topher Grace, Joshua Jackson, Barry Watson and Shane West.

12. The roles of the Malloy brothers were offered to Owen and Luke Wilson, and Frank Catton was offered to Danny Glover. All three chose to star in Wes Anderson's The Tenenbaums.

13. One of the scriptwriters, Ted Griffin, copied the verbal sparring between Virgil and Turk from his childhood experience with his brother.

13.1. The only scene in the film where the Malloy brothers are not together is the remote control of the minivan from the car with Tishkoff.

14. The film studio paid $200 thousand for filming in the house of Ruben Tishkoff. At this address, the stalker explores the surroundings of this luxury real estate in Palm Springs, California.

15. When her character first appeared, Julia Roberts was barefoot. They say the heels made her too oversized for the shot :) Proof:

16. About 2 thousand people took part in the crowd during the filming of the boxing match.

17. The Malloy brothers' names strongly resemble the character in The Godfather (1972) VerGila "Turka" Sollozzo. The similarity becomes all the more obvious because Scott Caan's (Virgil) father James Caan played Sonny, one of Sollozzo's blood enemies, in The Father. But it is not exactly :)

18. Rusty (Brad Pitt) understands Chinese. Otherwise, why does he immediately answer Yen's (Qin Shaobo) question? And by the way, yes, Ian did ask why not do a tunnel.

19. Lennox Lewis never entered the ring with Wladimir Klitschko. But he fought with his older brother Vitaly in June 2003 (winning by technical knockout).

20. Why does Frank Catton (Bernie Mac) painfully shake car salesman Billy Denham's hand? This is a subtle allusion to the film “Casino” (1995), in which the character of Billy Joe La Doo, who played it, is also subjected to “manual” violence.

21. Rusty's tattoo strongly resembles that of George Clooney as Seth in the movie From Dusk Till Dawn (22 facts about this movie).

22. Budget – $85 million, box office – $450 million. This is the most profitable part of the trilogy (12DO = 110/363, 13DO = 85/311) and the 2018 spinoff “Ocean’s 8” (70/298).
