Novec 1230 (also known as “dry water”, fluoroketone FK-5-1-12, freon PFK-49) is a colorless and odorless liquid, refrigerant, fire extinguishing agent.
This substance, unlike water, weakly wets and does not like to dissolve anything in itself. Apparently that is why the name “dry water” was assigned to it.
