And no, it’s not on the couch at home, as I would like.

If you are very afraid of flying, but have to, then here is some useful advice from aviation safety experts.

Planes sometimes crash, to be honest, and every time the crash site is studied very carefully. As a result of the accumulated experience, it turned out that there is no absolutely safe place in the cabin, but there are places where survival is much more likely.

US aviation expert Anthony Brickhouse is confident that if you have the choice of a seat, it is best to give preference to the aisle seats in the tail or at the wing.

Anthony himself always buys tickets at the back of the plane, since it has been repeatedly proven that there is a greater chance of survival there.

The wing contains “strong structural components” that are more likely to “survive” a disaster.

Time magazine reported that after studying row layouts, they found that the middle seats in the rear of the plane performed the best, with just 28% of fatalities.

But at the same time, the most dangerous places were in the aisle near the wing, where the mortality rate was 44%.

Graham Braithwaite, professor and director of transport systems at Cranfield University in the UK, recommends counting the number of rows to exit before take-off in case the cabin suddenly fills with smoke and visibility becomes poor.
