The American company Goat Tactical presented its new Atlas project - an army armored car, available for order to civilians and capable of driving on public roads. The car is protected from attacks from small arms, and the modified Ford Super Duty platform guarantees increased cross-country ability. In the ascetic basic version, the Goat Atlas will cost $395,000.
By default, the Goat Atlas is armored at B6 class with an upgrade to B7 at an additional cost. In this case, the SUV will withstand 50-caliber weapons and hand grenades. There are embrasures for return fire, glazing up to 75 mm thick and a sunroof, which can optionally be replaced with a machine gun turret (without a machine gun).
Also among the additional equipment mentioned is a hands-free system, protection against electromagnetic interference and toxic substances in the air, 360-degree on-board lighting and a power body kit.
Goat Tactical offers several interior architecture options for the armored car at the customer's choice: from simple benches along the sides for nine passengers, including the driver, to individual leather seats and expensive trim.
The power unit for the Atlas is borrowed from the Ford Super Duty without changes. This is a 6.7 liter diesel engine producing 330 hp. With. and 750 Nm in combination with a 10-speed automatic transmission. However, the armored car, which is noticeably heavier compared to the donor, will only accelerate to 145 km/h. At the same time, the modernized platform will provide it with 340 mm ground clearance, a fording depth of up to 800 mm and the ability to move along a 17-degree slope.
