Mario Yair, a traveler, history, art and supernatural fanatic, shared an unusual collection. These are world maps that are worthy of admiration for their concept or aesthetics.
1. Ebstorf map (1300)
It is considered a curiosity not only because it is the largest surviving medieval map, but also because it was created by women's hands in the Ebstorf monastery. It depicts the Earth in the form of the body of Christ, and in the center is the city of Jerusalem and the scene of the Resurrection.
2. Map of Wonderland by Jaro Hess (1930)
Map by Czech artist Jaro Hess, combining children's fairy tales and popular songs. Here you can find Little Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty and the plant that grew to the skies from the fairy tale "Jack and the Beanstalk".
3. History of Beijing (1936)
This tourist map, created by Frank Dorn, not only shows the outside and inside of the Forbidden City, but also illustrates the history of the city.
4. America. Her Folklore (1946)
William Gropper has mapped American legends, myths, and fairy tales, from the Salem Witches to the Mormon myth of sacred writings found in Utah.
5. Map of Mexico City (1932)
Artwork by Emily Edwards depicting the city as an Aztec eagle warrior.
6. Map of New York (1963)
Tourist map issued for the 1964 World's Fair. The author Hermann Bollmann depicted the city's skyscrapers in detail.
7. Tokyo Diorama (2014)
In 2014, artist Sohei Nishino created a series of panoramic maps of cities around the world using photographs. The Tokyo map includes about 10,000 different images that show space, people, buildings and even advertisements.
8. World of Cryptids (2020)
Illustration by Laimute Varkalaite shows the most famous mythical creatures of each country.
9. Half-joking military map (1877)
The Briton Frederick W. Rose imagined Europe in this way after the outbreak of the Russo-Turkish War.
10. Map of Kensington Gardens (1923)
Inspired by the Peter Pan sculpture, this map has become a feature of public transport in London. It is a combination of reality and fairy-tale fiction.
11. Santiago metro map (1975)

12. World and cosmology (1600)
This map of the world, compiled by Antonino de Saliba in 1600, depicts in a series of rings the realm of demons (phoenixes and salamanders), the firmament, climate phenomena, crops, the known world, the earth, rivers and volcanoes, and finally, in the center there is hell.
