Car headlight thieves have reached a new level - barbaric (3 photos)
At one time, the ease with which criminals removed headlights from early Porsche Cayennes spoiled the nerves of owners of expensive crossovers. The brand's engineers learned a hard lesson, and now optics from German cars cannot be easily removed, but thieves do not seem to have lost interest in them. A striking example is this Taycan Cross Turismo from Dusseldorf.
Photos of an electric car from which the headlights were removed in a barbaric manner were published by a Reddit user with the nickname No_Supermarket9751. To get to the optics, the criminals used metal scissors to cut the aluminum wings of the Taycan. According to the author, the photo shows his friend’s car.
The owner of the car notified the police about the theft, but there is no information yet about whether the thieves were caught. According to preliminary estimates, the cost of one headlight for the Taycan varies from 2.9 to 3.6 thousand dollars, while dealers are asking around 650 dollars apiece for the wings.
