HR trick: an advertising agency has figured out how to get rid of annoying employees (3 photos)
The director of an advertising agency in China has developed a grand plan to get rid of employees and not pay them benefits.
The agency had 20 people on staff, and the boss was so tired of all of them that he decided to update the staff, but if you just fire everyone, then you have to pay benefits. And oh, what a pity for money, so the boss came up with a plan, reliable as a Swiss watch. And we must give it its due, the plan worked almost flawlessly if the employees themselves had not started complaining on social networks.
The company was located in a busy part of the city, literally within walking distance from everything, but suddenly the employees were informed that the office was urgently moving. And not just to another part of the city, but to the rural mountainous area.
One former employee, surnamed Chang, said getting to work was a real challenge - a two-hour drive one way, with the bonus of walking.
“My colleagues who did not have their own cars had to take a bus that ran every three hours and then walk another three kilometers along mountain paths to get to the office,” he said.
Moreover, the company did not provide them with any transportation facilities. Mr. Chang also mentioned that the cost of a taxi from the nearest metro station was 50-60 yuan, but the company refused to reimburse or subsidize this amount.
The new workplace was devoid of basic amenities, forcing employees to travel to the nearest village to use a public toilet. Well, as a bonus, at night in this area it was simply dangerous because of stray dogs.
Despite employee complaints, management refused to do anything about the situation. The people could not stand it and 14 of the 20 employees, including Chang, quit. However, they later discovered that the company had returned to the city center and was actively hiring new employees.
This is what infuriated the former employees the most and they accused the boss of fraud in order not to pay benefits.
