Magnificent Angelo is one of the smallest but most productive Hollywood actors (8 photos)
Size matters. And this man proved this fact by his personal example. Although his height did not exceed 90 centimeters.
Angelo Rossitto was born in 1908 in Omaha, Nebraska. And he became one of the most sought-after dwarf actors, specializing mainly in the roles of midgets, pygmies, gnomes and various small aliens and fairy-tale villains.
The man was an understudy for Shirley Temple and regularly starred with the legendary Bela Lugosi (the duo’s works included the films “Ghosts Rampant,” “The Corpse Disappears” and “Scared to Death”). One of the most striking and controversial roles was Angelino, a circus performer from a freak show in the 1932 film “Freaks.” The role in the 1975 police serial drama “Baretta” was also memorable.
"Freaks"
Despite his solid track record (Angelo starred in a total of 94 films and TV series), in most of them the actor was not even listed in the credits. Although Rossitto was in great demand, it turned out to be impossible even for such a small person to live on acting fees alone.

"Confessions of an Opium Addict"
And the actor owned his own small business - a newsstand, returning to selling printed materials every time his work on another project ended.
"Mad Max 3"
Rossitto played his last role in Mad Max 3 while already almost completely blind. The little artist passed away in 1991 at the age of 83, which is a very rare case for people with dwarfism.
