Cats' right to a dignified old age and quiet care is being realized in Lincolnshire (8 photos)
To put it simply, a nursing home is a life-supporting structure, the purpose of which is to ensure normal survival and care. The idea is nothing new, but in a county in eastern England there is an organization whose members call it one of a kind.
Because our charges are not people, but older cats. The idea for the Lincolnshire Trust for Cats, a nursing home for cats, came to Jane Hills in 1999, when a woman was faced with a problem: charities did not want to take old animals. The chances of placing tailed old men and women into the family were almost zero.
And Jane decided that cats deserve to live out their days in a safe, comfortable and cozy place. And she advertised for those who wanted to place an old cat in a nursing home. The amount of maintenance is not small and amounts to 850 pounds or approximately 1050 dollars. But this is a one-time fee, and for this money the animal is provided with full maintenance and care, including medical procedures and operations if necessary.
The establishment is visited mainly by people who cannot take care of their pets and understand that the animal has a high chance of outliving its owner, who is sick or old. And then the pet will spend the rest of its days simply in a cage, without a chance to get out of there and find a new family. The first client was a man who placed his late mother's 15-year-old cat in the shelter. He did not have the opportunity to care for the old animal; no one would take her into good hands because of her age, and he could not betray the beloved creature of his loved one.
Osgodby village
The house is set on approximately 3 hectares of land near the village of Osgodby and includes three spacious, well-heated reception rooms. The rooms are connected to each other by wide platforms on which tailed pensioners can walk and stretch their paws. All windows face south - the old people need warmth and light. The food is only of high quality, as are the furniture and accessories - beds, dishes, toys. The house even has a fireplace.
A Lincolnshire care home is open to volunteers who are happy to work with pets. Approximately 80 mustachioed clients aged from 10 to 20 years live in the establishment on a permanent basis, which by human standards varies from 60 to 100 years. A substantial contribution allows you to take care without prejudice to boarders and abandoned animals that need care and a new family. There are many more such tails - about four hundred.

The Lincolnshire Cat Foundation accepts donations from those who care and helps improve the fate of young cats from farms.
It is possible that not only cats would like to spend the autumn of their lives in such a place.
