The Iranian company Saipa will soon begin sales of the Kadila P90 sedan, which is based on the first generation Renault Logan, but with minor external changes and with an engine manufactured by Iran Khodro.
The origin of the Saipa Kadila is easily identified by the silhouette of the body with its characteristic rear pillars. However, the sedan will go on sale with a completely new “face”, original lighting equipment and different bumpers.
The main changes in the interior are multimedia in nature: Logan’s dashboard was replaced, and a media system with a touch screen and physical buttons appeared on the center console. In addition, the Saipa version of the sedan will be equipped with a different steering wheel.
It is planned to install a 1.6-liter engine localized in Iran on the Saipa Kadila. This is a local version of the Peugeot TU5 engine, which is widely used in Iran Khodro cars: it develops 110 hp. and 147 Nm and works in combination with a five-speed manual transmission. In the future, the appearance of a traditional “automatic” on Kadila is not excluded.
According to the publication, the prototype is currently undergoing certification and will soon appear on the market. The localization level of the refurbished Logan reaches 97%.
