The manager did not want girls to go on maternity leave as soon as they started working, so he decided to take control of childbirth into his own hands.

In China, the “One family - one child” policy has long been abolished, but employers are not happy with the country’s change in policy toward childbearing. Company managers don’t want to hire young employees who might go on maternity leave, so someone is taking desperate measures. One of these company managers developed his own hiring strategy and during the interview, the applicant was not only asked to install an intrauterine device, but also to send reports on contraception after each sexual contact.

This case was told by a girl from the city of Dongying, who saw a vacancy for a legal assistant online and decided to apply for it. During the online interview, the recruiter was interested in plans for the future, including having children, after which the applicant was informed about the necessary conditions. The interlocutor asked if the girl would like to install an intrauterine device. And then he offered to send a photo with confirmation of safe sex (whatever that means) and the date after each sexual intercourse. This remark outraged the girl.

Seeing her indignation, the recruiter explained that these were forced measures. The company does not have the funds to pay maternity benefits and train new employees. The company saves money, so during business trips, employees of opposite sexes sleep in the same room, and managers must be sure that they will not bring back a surprise in the form of pregnancy from their trips. Therefore, it’s either this way or not at all.

On this note, the Chinese woman decided to interrupt the interview, and then told about her story on social networks. And although China is now concerned about serious unemployment, young people are not going to take jobs with such draconian conditions.

In China, it is prohibited to ask about an applicant’s marital status when applying for a job, but recruiters usually look through social networks and draw conclusions on their own. So, a Chinese woman who recently got married, of course, posted her wedding photos on social networks, so it wasn’t difficult for the recruiter to put 2 and 2 together.

In March of last year, one of the companies came under the close attention of inspection authorities because of an advertisement that stated the requirements for candidates: family people with children or single people. The spouse without children was asked not to apply for these vacancies. Such discrimination outraged the Chinese, but they also considered frank demands for contraception to be out of the ordinary.

In the comments under the Chinese woman’s post, one of the girls complained that it is now very difficult for those who have recently gotten married to find a job. Moreover, the commentator writes, if you are legally married, expect to be fired next month - this is how the employer tries to get rid of the employee before she becomes pregnant, because In case of an “interesting situation”, according to the law, she will not be able to lose her job.
