Visitors to a McDonald's in Notting Hill, London, recently filmed a huge rat running around the restaurant. Running through the hall, the rat hid under the chair of an unsuspecting visitor. The rest immediately armed themselves with phones and began to film what was happening. It's not every day you see a rat at McDonald's - and especially in a respectable part of the city.
One diner, 48-year-old Luke Scott (the author of the video), said that while he was pouring himself a milkshake, he heard a "terrible scream" - so loud he thought the restaurant was being robbed. But it turned out to be just a rat - as the man said, "the size of his foot." A sudden guest "confidently" ran across the floor of the establishment right at the feet of visitors.
The appearance of the rat led to a slight panic among the visitors. Two minutes after she was spotted, the staff "evacuated" the customers and temporarily closed the restaurant with an audible announcement. Within an hour, the establishment reopened, leading the video's creator to question the hygiene practices of the staff.
“I saw rodents on the streets of London, and sometimes it’s not entirely clear whether it’s a mouse in front of you or a rat. But without a doubt, it was a rat. It was huge. After that, I stopped going to McDonald’s. That day I just really wanted to milkshake. I'm glad I didn't eat anything there then," the author of the video said.
