While traveling in Ireland, the attention of Roman Veillon was attracted by an article in a local newspaper about an abandoned hotel. French the photographer decided it was worth a visit. He was amazed when he saw interiors. Nature won back: the rooms were covered with ferns and ivy!

The hotel is located on the ocean, and because of the wind and storms windows shattered. And thanks to the high humidity, everything is so fast has grown.

Much has been preserved: telephones, tables, books, chairs, old paintings, glasses, TVs, even hair dryers...

The photographer felt as if he was in a post-apocalyptic film, where he wanders through an empty world.

"It's an eerie feeling, the atmosphere is incredible, and I I hope that I managed to accurately convey it in my photographs, "- Roman says.

"I love abandoned places, especially those that have been captured by nature! I like it when these buildings look like a person disappeared from the planet, as in a post-apocalyptic world. In addition, this hotel was completely untouched, no one set foot there for almost ten years!"

"I was lucky enough to visit this place. There is no graffiti, no empty bottles on the floor. I tried my best to report as if it is a working hotel that needs advertising. So I showed all the rest of the furniture (hair dryer, TVs, glasses, beds, telephones, mirrors, etc.)".

"The room that made the biggest impression on me was the one that will be on the cover of my next book! Still hanging on the wall two paintings that give a poetic touch to the interior. Everywhere ferns and mold, a fire extinguisher lying on the floor, as if they have been able to use it."

"I used the same equipment (Nikon D800 and wide-angle lens) and the same tricks that I usually use when photographing abandoned places.

"I explored other abandoned places with no less exciting stories. One of them is Kolmanskop! It was a miner's a city in the middle of the Namib Desert in Namibia, where diamonds were mined. In 1954 the population moved to the south, where a new deposit was found. Kolmanskop turned into a ghost town, and now it is completely covered sand."
