The oldest dog in the world lives in Portugal
Bobby, the oldest dog in the world who lived more than twice the average life expectancy for the Rafeiro do Alentejo breed, or Portuguese Mastiff, continues to enjoy life on a farm in the small village of Conqueiros (municipality of Leiria, Portugal).
Photos of the world-famous dog show he is still enjoying life with his owner, Leonal Costa, who is only seven years older than his pet.
Bobby was born on May 11, 1992, and at the beginning of this year was recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the longest-lived dog in the world.
According to the owner, Bobby loves to eat and mostly eats the same food as his owners, but they make sure to soak the food in water first to remove the seasoning.
The good health of the animal at such an advanced age also seems to be in the genes, as the owner said that the dog's mother, Jira, lived to be 18 years old, and his other relative, named Chikote, lived for 22 years.
