Brazil seizes the largest illegal shipment of shark fins (3 photos)

Total employees of the Brazilian Institute of Environmental Protection environment and renewable resources seized from smugglers 28.7 tons finned mako sharks and blue sharks. 
Of these, 27.6 tons were awaiting shipment to Asia from a warehouse in the state Santa Catarina, and the rest tried to take out through the international Guarulhos Airport in Sao Paulo. 
According to the institute, we can talk about illegal fishing almost 10 thousand fish, the purposeful extraction of which is prohibited by local legislation. Note that shark fins are considered valuable delicacy in the international market.
