Giant yellow duckling in Hong Kong deflated in front of onlookers (3 photos + 1 video)
The two famous giant yellow ducklings created by the Dutch artist Hoffman, returned to Hong Kong after 10 years, but one of them deflated just a few hours after the grand opening ceremony installations. Witnesses shared footage of the incident on social media. 
Hong Kong's iconic installation is back after ten year break. Crowds of people gathered in the harbor to stare at two giant ducks swimming along the city embankments.
The opening ceremony was held in Hong Kong on Saturday morning. The installation of the Dutch artist was supposed, as the media write, to give viewers "double happiness", but on the opening day something went wrong. Air from one figure was released after a few hours.
As nosy journalists managed to find out, the organizers installation "Two Ducks by Florentin Hoffmann", installed in the harbor Victoria in Hong Kong, one of the 18-meter rubber ducks was blown away due to abnormally hot weather that caused an increase in air pressure inside figures. This is stated on June 10 on the page of the action in the "forbidden program". 
The organizers specified that around 13:00 local time (08:00 Moscow time) workers checked the condition of the figure and found that the surface of one is “excessively stretched due to increased air pressure in hot conditions." Since the arrival of the floating maintenance the workshop took time, the specialists decided to bleed the air from duckling figures "to avoid risks". 
As follows from the published video, the air came out of the duck in a few seconds. Tourists and locals on the promenade, calmly reacted to the incident by continuing to take pictures.
The yellow sculptures, 18 meters high, are part of the series rubber ducks created by famous Dutch artist Florentin Hoffman. They first appeared in 2007 and visited the main cities around the world.
Twin ducks will swim in front of the Hong Kong conference and exhibition center, and then make a stop before city government headquarters. Residents expressed great joy in connection with their return, - reports InoTV.
