The first slide is quite famous on the Internet, but not everyone knows that this is a whole photo series taken in 1954 by an American photographer Nat Farbman for LIFE magazine on a farm in California.
Farmer Art Badercher taught this trick to a kitty first. Squirrly, and then other cats from this farm began to perform such show while milking cows.
But as it turned out, they were not the first to learn such focus. I managed to find several earlier pictures with a similar plot. For example, this picture dates back to 1898 and is stored in American Library of Congress.
